Mapped Network Drives

Mapped Network Drives are Shared Folders on a server that allows users to share data, such as files, documents, videos and more, with other users on the network. Each user will have three drives mapped by default, namely Home Drive (H:), Shared Drive (Z:), and Scans (S:). An explanation of each and their use case will be provided below.

• Open File Explorer from your Taskbar or right-click on the Start Menu Icon and select File Explorer. Alternatively, you can use the Windows logo key + E shortcut on your keyboard to open File Explorer.

• Click on the This PC icon in the navigation pane (left menu window) to display the computer's libraries, devices and drives and network locations.

• Under the Devices and drives section you will find the following Mapped Network Drives:

Path: \\lorraine-fs01\Educators Data\%username%

• The Home Drive (H:) is a Mapped Network Drive assigned to each user where they can securely store their work without being shared or seen by other users. This drive is limited to 20GB (Gigabytes) per user.

Path: \\lorraine-fs01\Shared Drive

• The Shared Drive (Z:) is a Mapped Network Drive created to store and share information, files, videos, etc. among colleagues.

Path: \\lorraine-host01\scans\%username%

• The Scans Drive is a repository where all your scanned workflow documents are stored.
